The Roots and Shoots club at Trident Technical College is a group of students committed to environmental stewardship. As members of Charleston Waterkeeper, they have made great efforts to spread the message about our mission to the Trident Tech community.
Last month Cosima Franke, one of Roots and Shoots most devoted members, organized a good old fashioned bake sale to raise awareness and funds for Charleston Waterkeeper. The day was incredibly successful and the club was able to raise $141! Thanks so much guys!!!

I was so surprised when students all of the sudden put in $5 and $20, it really shows how much they care about the quality of our water. I hope you received the check by now, our treasurer mailed it thursday morning. Sorry, it took so long the treasurer isn’t always on campus so it makes it harder to get it done. Have good week! peace, Cosima
I just wanted to write that I was very surprised how generous people were. Especially, given the economy some students donated $5 and $20. My mom even offered to buy all of the cookies that were left and she ended up donating $20..and i donated the same amount myself. I believe that roots and shoots in the future wants to continue to support you..and i will do my best to continue that also.
